Want to win a 2012 Camry? Shazam!

Watching the Super Bowl means you’ll see plenty of advertisements, but Toyota wants to give you and a friend a Camry for watching. Toyota has announced a new integrated marketing campaign where they’ve paired with the mobile application Shazam and want you to be part of the “Camry Effect.”

“The Camry Effect is one of the most ambitious social media campaigns we’ve ever implemented,” said Dave Nordstrom, vice president of digital marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in a statement. “Partnering with Shazam allows us to increase awareness of this effort on the national stage and give one lucky winner the opportunity to positively affect a friend and start writing his or her own Camry story.”

The Camry Effect looks to unite Camry owners across the country and provides a platform for them to share their stories and memories from the past 30 years, when the Camry was first introduced. Using your smartphone and Shazam app, you can watch the “Connections” advertisement and you’ll be entered in the sweepstakes when prompted, or you can fill out an online form. The winner will be notified Feb. 5, with a public announcement soon after. You will be allowed to enter once a day up to the debut of the commercial and also while the commercial airs live. After the commercial airs you can go online to share or view more Camry stories through an interactive video timeline. While the Shazam app was created to listen to music and name the artist, it has been integrated to work with other sound bites and commercials.

“Toyota is one of America’s most trusted brands and we are thrilled to work with them on this exciting campaign,” said Evan Krauss, Shazam’s executive vice president of advertising in a statement. “There are more than 130 million smartphones and tablets in the US and 86 percent of their owners use them while watching TV, which is why more and more Fortune 100 brands like Toyota see the importance of implementing a mobile strategy in their commercials. They choose Shazam because we make it easy for their millions of consumers to engage with their products.”

The commercial, which can be seen online here and through Toyota’s YouTube channel, will feature a small decal in the bottom corner that informs the viewer that “you could win a Camry.”
